Free workshop: sizing your off-grid solar system (2/2)

30th March 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Screen on solar battery showing power and wattage

You’ve already decided to build an off-grid solar system, but how do you find out what size you need?

This friendly and informative workshop is to explore what size off-grid solar system is required for your needs. You’ll learn how to calculate what solar panel, battery, and inverter capacity is needed for items you want to power – please bring the wattage of anything you have in mind!

Minimal maths competence is required, a love of tea a bonus.

Please follow this link to book your place.

Note: this is an information and discussion workshop, not a practical demonstration.

This workshop will be facilitated by Arran Allison, the Green Handyman for Energise Sussex Coast. Arran lives off-grid himself and has been building off grid workshops for over 20 years – building solar systems to power stages at festivals as well as small solar projects. Arran is self taught and wants to share the knowledge and skills he’s learnt along the way.

This is the second of two workshops facilitated by Arran, previous attendance is not needed. The first workshop on 16th March will focus on how set up a small off-grid system.

This event is hosted by Energise Sussex Coast with the help of Warm this Winter and the National Lottery Community Fund.
