Green Room

The Green Room is a creative, welcoming activity-based community space, where local people come together to develop and implement ideas, actions and events in response to the climate crisis.

The Green Room takes place every Thursday in the Hastings Common Room.

The Common Room is a joint initiative Between Energise Sussex Coast and Transition Town Hastings. It is funded by the Together for our Planet fund from the National Lottery and Making it Happen from Hastings Voluntary Action.

Each Thursday, the Green Room hosts a weekly energy advice desk and a monthly climate networking event, along with many other activities. To date we have had many fantastic events including:

  • A series of plastic themed events
  • Insulation drop ins
  • Solar and heat pump workshops
  • Monthly pot luck suppers
  • Environmental film screenings
  • Food growing workshops
  • Gardening the streets planting workshops
