Rural Community Energy Fund/Community Heat/Community Transport

1st December 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 21st December 2020 @ 2:00 pm

1st December – Rural Community Energy Fund webinar aimed at community groups to inform and inspire them to apply for relevant funding available.

This is one of a series of events by Nottingham City Council. Contact Ruth.Mulvany@nottinghamcity.gov.uk at the Midlands Energy Hub if you are interested in any of the following;

Community Heat (8 December 2020) and Community Transport (21 December 2020). These webinars will highlight what community groups have achieved with the grants they have been awarded by the Fund. To register for the first event on Community Power, 1 December 2020, click the link below. To register for the subsequent sessions, 8 & 21 December, email Ruth Mulvany at the Midlands Energy Hub, which is arranging the events on behalf of the Energy Hubs in England Ruth.Mulvany@nottinghamcity.gov.uk.

The picture shows Cromford Mill, birthplace of the modern factory system and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A feasibility study to examine the reinstatement of a waterwheel at the site (first installed in 1776!) has just been successfully completed with the support of the Rural Community Energy Fund. The study has identified that a modern Kaplan turbine would exploit the full potential of the site and provide up to 20kW of hydroelectric power. A representative from Cromford Mill will speak on 1 December at the Community Power webinar.
