Quick and easy wins to bring down your energy bills plus energy saving freebies to take away.

The workshop is being led by Kate Meakin who has been an Energy Advisor for Energise Sussex Coast and has managed the energy advice service for the last 3. In this workshop Kate will share the tips and tricks that make the biggest difference to bring down bills.

In this workshop Kate will take you through the easiest, quickest and most effective ways to reduce your energy costs and save energy. The workshop will take you through a 5 step plan:

1 – Making sure the price is right

For bill payers – We will look at how to tell whether your bill and direct debit costs are right. How to ensure you are on the right tariff.

For paying by prepay – We will look at how to check your energy costs and how to ensure you are not paying for someone else’s debt on the meter.

We will run through the current government and local authority support available and how to get it.

We will look at “the energy cap” what does it mean and how much will your bills be this winter.

2 – Using your energy system controls to save hundreds

We will talk you through how you can save hundreds from your bills by simple adjustments to your boiler, thermostat and radiator controls.

3 – Energy switches – How to combat the big energy guzzlers.

A few of our household appliances account for a large % of our energy costs. We will go through how much appliances  cost and alternatives to using them.

4 – DIY energy saving

We will let you know the simple measures that you can install in your home to save energy and how to go about installing them effectively. We will also provide you with free energy saving kit you need to take away and install at home including draught proofing materials and lightbulbs.
