Project Assistant

Salary: £19,500 – £21,500 (pro rata)

Hours: 10 hours a week (on days to suit the candidate)

Location: Energise Sussex Coast office, Silchester Road, St Leonard’s

The post will be awarded on a fixed term contract until June 2019. There will be a 3 month probation period.

Energise Sussex Coast is recruiting a Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the EU Interreg funded Climate Active Neighborhood project.

 

The Project Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Data entry.

  • Managing spreadsheets and analysing data.

  • Keeping files and databases up to date.

  • Assisting with reporting requirements.

  • Assisting with marketing ESC activities.

  • Updating the ESC and 1066 Energy Campaign website.

  • Assisting with organising programme events as necessary.

  • Office manager functions e.g. booking travel, booking appointments.

  • Supporting financial functions e.g. generating invoices.

  • Ad-hoc Support to ESC’s activities, such as helping out at outreach events.

Information on the projects

Climate Active Neighborhoods (CAN) – is an Ore based project funded by Interreg North West Europe. The project aims to develop an area based retrofit programme and to engage with the whole community on the best way to address climate change.

Competencies and qualities

Energise Sussex Coast are looking for someone that is very organised, good at handling and processing data and IT literate, with a good working knowledge of Excel.

We are looking for someone that is process driven, and enjoys methodical data input, processing and filing. This person will need to have a keen eye for detail and will help us meet the strict compliance rules of an EU Interreg funded project.

In return ESC offers a very flexible part time role, that would fit very well around family life or other commitments. We are a small and friendly organisation with lots of interesting project going on and you will be part of a busy, upbeat team based in central St Leonards.

Essential

Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent administrative skills.

Strong working knowledge of Excel and managing databases – including how to use formulas, analyse data, create charts etc.

Good IT skills.

The initiative to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Flexibility to cope with several jobs simultaneously and to agreed deadlines.

High level of numeracy and familiarity with basic financial documents.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

An understanding of data protection GDPR rules, or willing to learn.

Desirable

An interest in the energy sector/ environmental issues.

Experience of updating WordPress websites.

Working on EU funded or grant funded projects.

PA experience.

Familiar with the local area.

Experience of community work.

Experience of social media.
