Ore Solar Valley Consultancy Opportunity

  • Contract from asap of April (with a possibility of an extended contract if more funding is received).
  • Salary: £20ph (to a max of 75 hours).

Energise Sussex Coast is looking to contract a consultant who will take forward the Ore Solar Valley project. This will form part of the EU Climate Active Neighborhoods project.

The Ore Solar Valley project seeks to move forward 4 potential community locations to host community owned solar arrays. This includes setting up and coordinating a community solar share launch.

The requirements of the tender are:

  • Progressing 4 potential solar roof locations through the stages needed for a solar installation. Including obtaining the permissions needed, engaging with owners and users of the buildings, coordinating surveys.
  • Working closely with the community locations to do this.
  • Working closely with Energise Sussex Coast on the project.
  • Researching and proposing the best vehicle for a community share offer.
  • Coordinating the community share offer.
  • Establishing a steering group for the project.
  • Coordinating the making of a crowdfunding video.

The consultant must show evidence of:

  • A good awareness of the local context – ideally living or working in Hastings/ Ore.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in the community energy sector.
  • Demonstrable experience of community engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience of community consultation.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Experience of/ a working knowledge of community energy share offers.

The consultant must also:

  • Fundraise to provide match funding for the post.
  • Be able to start in February.
